CROCUS
(music Toine Claessen)
In the
seventies there was a rise of folk-bands from Great Britain and also in the
Netherlands. We also got inspired and set up an acoustic trio called
"Mangrove". We had a lot of self-written songs and wrote music for
existing texts. Although we had many songs in English, the album . "Als de
wind waait" (LP, 1976, Munich Records) contained only Dutch-language and
instrumental songs.
Mangrove was Harrie Hawinkels, guitar, vocals and spoons, Steeph Custers,
violin, mandolin and vocals, and Toine Claessen, guitar, mandolin, tin whistle
and vocals.
